App localization software for iOS, Android and web
Keep every string of your mobile and web apps in one place, let translators work on them with screenshots for context, and ship the files each platform expects. No limit on strings or languages, on any plan.
What mobile app localization involves
Localizing an app means more than translating text. Every string the user sees needs a key the code can look up, a value in each language, and a file format the platform can read. iOS uses String Catalogs or .strings files, Android uses strings.xml, Flutter uses ARB, and web apps mostly use JSON.
The hard part is keeping it all in sync. Developers add keys while translators work on values, plural rules differ by language, and one stray apostrophe in an Android file breaks the build. App localization software exists to hold the strings in one place and hand each platform a correct file.
The app localization process, step by step
- 1
Move every string out of the code
Give each piece of user-facing text a key, such as checkout.pay_button. If your app already has String Catalogs, strings.xml, ARB or JSON files, import them as they are.
- 2
Choose your languages
Add as many languages as you need. Plural forms follow each language's CLDR rules, so Polish gets few and many, and Japanese gets just one form.
- 3
Give translators context
Upload screenshots and link them to the keys they show. A translator sees where "Book" appears before deciding whether it is a noun or a verb.
- 4
Review before release
Each translation carries a status, so reviewers see what is left. String Catalog and XLIFF exports carry it too, so Xcode and translation tools flag unapproved text.
- 5
Ship the files each platform expects
Pull .xcstrings or .strings for iOS, strings.xml for Android, ARB for Flutter and JSON for web, straight into the right folders, from your machine or your CI.
- 6
Fix text without a release
With the iOS and Android SDKs, published strings reach installed apps over the air, and a release can be limited to app versions that have the keys it uses.
What to look for in app localization tools
Pricing that does not punish growth
Many tools price by strings, keys or words, so adding a language or a feature moves you up a tier. LocalizeMe counts none of them on any plan.
Native file formats
Ten export formats, including String Catalogs, Android XML with <plurals>, ARB, XLIFF and gettext PO, with the escaping each platform needs.
One key, many platforms
A key can hold one value for every platform and override it on iOS or Android where the copy has to differ.
Developer workflow
A CLI for builds and CI, a REST API, webhooks and an MCP server, so coding agents can add keys while writing the feature that needs them.
Context for translators
Screenshots linked to keys, key groups by feature, translator notes, and a full history of who changed what.
No seat tax
Pro includes unlimited members, so inviting another translator never changes the bill.
What LocalizeMe does not do
LocalizeMe is software, not a translation agency, and it does not machine-translate. Your own translators, colleagues or a vendor you choose do the translating. LocalizeMe keeps their work organised, reviewed and in the right files.

Questions
What is app localization software?
It is a tool that stores every user-facing string of an app with its translations, lets translators and reviewers work on them, and exports the files each platform reads, such as String Catalogs for iOS and strings.xml for Android.
Does LocalizeMe translate my app automatically?
No. LocalizeMe has no machine translation. Your own translators or a vendor you choose do the translating, and LocalizeMe manages their work.
Which platforms does it support?
iOS, Android, Flutter and web apps, through ten file formats. Over-the-air updates are available for iOS and Android through the mobile SDKs.
How much does it cost?
There is a free plan with one project. Pro is €19 a month per workspace, excluding VAT, with up to five projects and unlimited members. The mobile SDKs need the Mobile plan. No plan limits strings or languages.
